How to properly brush your teeth | Tips by LEBON

1. How to choose the right toothbrush

With the many options available, we never know what to look for. Make sure to pick whatever is most comfortable for you. The best toothbrush is one that fits your mouth and allows you to reach all teeth easily.

Many dental professionals recommend changing your toothbrush about every three months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. That's because, no matter what type of toothbrush you use, its bristles can become frayed and worn and may lose their effectiveness. Clinical research shows that a new toothbrush can remove more plaque than one that's worn out, ensuring that your brush is working its hardest to help keep your teeth clean and healthy.

2. Think massage, not scrub.

Scrubbing your teeth harder may harm your gums. Massage them, not scrub. Leave it to the power of the toothpaste to take the dirt out.

3. Take your time, a tip from Terrence the Teacher,
A Wellbeing Consultant and Mindfulness Expert from London.

"A very powerful tip is to use your brushing of the teeth time as a little Mindful exercise. It is a perfect 2 minutes in your day where you can connect with nurturing yourself physically but also emotionally. While brushing your teeth, take the time to SEE yourself in the mirror. Be kind and congratulate yourself. You are doing the best you can and that is all that matters. Also , as you brush your teeth imagine that you are brushing away the stresses in your life. You are in charge ! A bit of positive self talk goes a long way to calming the mind and relaxing an over stressed body. You can walk away from brushing your teeth feeling cleansed in more than just one way.” - Terrence the Teacher

4. Up & Down

It's a common thing when brushing. We go left to right, right to left. Start from the gum and go up and down, in small circular motions.

5. Take time to enjoy.

As aforementioned, brushing our teeth is probably the first and last thing we do every day. It's automatic. 2 minutes in the morning, 2 minutes at night, and we don't even take time for ourselves to relax and decompress. But we should.

To give a morning boost or ease your mind at night, LEBON’s toothpastes allow’s you to enjoy a real self-care moment and to be 100% in harmony with your body.
